tried to call earlier on to make reservations but we told that they only do walk-in


we got a bit bored while waiting. wonder where is soup restaurant located in amk hub?

soup restaurant was chose as my parents are real picky when it comes to good food. being in the F&B line, who to blame. Chinese cruisine was picked as they didnt like the fanciful new york, nor fish & co.

while waiting for my brother to reach here from camp, camwhoring is inevitable. i think my fussyness over how the pictures are taken comes from mummy. she asked to see the pictures and started giving comments like: TOO DARK, NOT NICE. hahaha. now u guys know y im like this right. it just runs in the blood. hahaha

well, most ppl says sis looks more like mummy, and i look more like daddy. well, i have no idea too. hahaha

Under the name and style of "Soup Restaurant", the outlets serve traditional "Chinatown Heritage Cuisine" originating from their Managing Director, Mok Yip Peng's family recipes. Their signature dishes includes "Samsui Ginger Chicken", "Ah Por Fan Shu Leaves", "Ah Kon Fan Shu Leaves", "Beggar Bowl Tofu" and various Herbal Soups such as "Double Boiled Dried Scallop with Black Chicken Soup", "Double Boiled Waisan & Ginseng Root Chicken Soup" and others. Focusing on simple yet delicious recipes and maintaining a unique ambience at each outlet that evokes nostalgic memories.

Eleven Tong Poh Pork
i like the deep fried buns. haha. they were, so so, NICE la. haha. the pork was in this sweet sauce. tender, despite the fact tt there were so much fats. it was real good =)


Sambal Kang Kong
all time favourite. it's spicy, but not to extent of wanting to pushing tons a water down ur throat. it's good. maybe a little too long under the fire

Fried Broccoli w Fresh Scallop
the broccoli were crunchy, but perhaps sis and i preferred those that are cooked slightly longer. haha. n, TCC's scallops much better prepared than theirs.

Fried French Beans w Minced pork
very homely and simple dish. makes u feel so at home, eating one of mummy's filled with heart prepared dishes

claypot tofu with sea cucumbers
another of a simple dish. but the tofu were soft, but doesnt break tt easily. the sauce was real well prepared =)

SIGNATURE DISH
Samsui Ginger Chicken
A traditional Samsui dish consumed by the Samsui women in Chinatown. Due to their low income, the Samsui Ginger Chicken was only consumed once a year, during the Chinese New Year. Chicken was steamed without much seasoning after which, dipped in ginger sauce before consumption. The ginger sauce is a fragrant and tasty compliment to the chicken. Ginger and sesame oil, as believed by the Chinese, removes excess wind from the body. You may wrap the chicken in lettuce to achieve that crunch when you bite into the popular Samsu Ginger Chicken.
