chijmes on sunday

Dinner at chijmes with theodore

it has the very traditional japanese restaurant outlook. totally different from what i expected it to be.

to start off, we i ordered sushi because mr theodore has a mouth as strict as the custom, so he does not eat everything tat i ordered. but that does not stop me from ordering my cravings!

cha soba, food whereby any japanese restaurant are able to produce. nothing special, just that i have the cravings for soba

tempura, how can anyone resist this! anyone from the tender age of 3 till 100 will like this la! (okay, i know this sounds too exaggerating, oh ya, to leave out the vegetarians also la!) The prawns were very fresh despite the were deep fried.

the best dish of the night. scallops in teppan-yaki style. fried garlics were served together with the scallops. i used to totally heart the ones served at tcc, seafood aglio olio, but i must say, this is not as thick as the ones served at tcc, but they were cooked at the correct temperature, with the correct timing. sauce was lovely, not too salty, yet does not taste of just oyster sauce and nothing else.

i do not pay attention to things i dont like. like this dish. i know it's beef. that's all. dont ask me what's the name, how it taste. cause i cannot comment, as i did not try it, and do not wish to try it, although Theodore says it was very very good. *shrugs

went for my porridge at old airport road on monday. it's damn nice la! well, nice if u like those porridge that u can barely see the grains. yes, say i do not know how to appreciate teochew style! haha!
